IU SUMMER CAMP 2020
International University, VNU.HCM, will host the 2020 IU Summer Camp from July 20th-21st,2020. The Summer Camp at the Cellular Reprogramming Laboratory was attended by around 100 high school students from Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria, An Giang, Chau Doc provinces, and so on.
In order to give students the most accurate view of Animal Biotechnology, especially Reproductive Technology and Regenerative Biomedicine, Preservation Dangerous Animal, laboratory activities included both general presentation and actual experimental procedures to help them understand their interests, inspiration and future orientation.
Most notably, the students were given the opportunity to observe intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) cloning done by Lab members and Prof. Nguyen Van Thuan. Besides this, the eggs under the micro-manipulator device may even be physically “touched.” Such is thought to be accessible only in Harvard University or University of Tokyo laboratories. But they can look at International University and do the same.
